MARIACHI PARADE – GUADALAJARA-   Celebrations abound in the month of Mexico’s Independence but in Jalisco even begin in late August with Guadalajara’s  impressive Mariachi Parade. Bands come from South America, Canada, the USA, even Europe and many from Mexico.

Colourful floats, talented musicians and songsters, spirited folkloric dancers  along with beautiful horses with their Charros are all part of this well orchestrated event. Check – to enjoy a taste of the Parade

LARGEST BALLET FOLKLORICO in MEXICO-   Jocotepec at the west end of Lake Chapala, out did itself with Mexico’s largest Ballet Folklorico. Using their new Malecon as a venue, about 1300 dancers from towns around the Lake participated in this joyous event as you can see

AJIJIC’S GLOBO (BALLOON) REGATTA Another family fun annual event with the hand crafted, hot air paper balloons that offer challenges and excitement and occasional disappointment.

EL GRITO On September 15th., the eve of Mexico’s Independence Day. Another major reason for celebration, especially on their 200th anniversary. Chapala hosted one of many events throughout Mexico.
